Hi, Some sites, e.g. motogp.com, have a share feature for each article in their page, showing share options usually for Facebook, Twitter and Google+. It works fine for Twitter and Google+ but when I click on the FB icon, nothing happens. it works fine with other browsers. The FF share service works fine but it will share the whole page or I need to open the whole article before I can share it. it's no big deal, I just would like to know why it works for Twitter and Google+ and not for Facebook and if there is a way to fix it. Clearing all the cookies didn't fix it.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Thank you cor-el for your help. Clearing the cache and removing the cookies didn't work. The solution was to go into safe mode as suggested and remove one extension that was causing the problem.
