Cannot clear my browsing history, tryed everything under the sun.

I have just upgraded to Firefox 3.6.3, running windows XP. I went through the forum to see if someone had the same problem clearing the browsing history. I cleared places.squite and bookmark back up's in the profiles folder and everything I was supposed to clear, my browsing history is still showing. I also installed the plug-in that asks to clear all history when Firefox closes, the history doesn't clear.

You can try to clean History using CCleaner. You will find this tool at piriform.com. Hope it was usefull

Do you have an old Firefox Profile Folder that still has a file history.dat from Firefox 2 ? If you delete places.sqlite then Firefox will rebuild the history from such a leftover file.
