My Thunderbird has disappeared and I have no idea what to do.

I got notifications that I needed to update my email. I tried to follow the directions but after it was uninstalled, nothing else happened and now it's gone and I have nothing. I do not know what to do and am panicked because it's the only way I have to contact many people and it's really important to me.

Please provide details. what do you mean by being notified to update? An email? from whom? What directions did you follow? You mentioned uninstalled, but is contrary to updating. We do not know what version you were using, nor your OS, nor how and by whom you were notified to update, and the steps you took. To help you, some of that will be needed. You state you have nothing, not even Thunderbird. I will assume you are using Windows. If so, please do this:

  1. enter %appdata% in the search window in task bar and press Enter
  2. that should open File Explorer at the appdata\roaming folder. Look for a folder named Thunderbird. If foun you may not have lost data.
