Update: the subfolders do eventually appear 38 seconds after tapping the bookmarks folder. Prior to the most recent update it took approx 1 to 2 seconds for the subfolders to appear.
What caused it in version 148 is Bug 1988315 - Add/Edit bookmark, change storage location: With extensive bookmark collections, the folder list loads extremely slowly and it's going to be fixed in Bug 2009006 - Expanding folder with many items takes long time.
I'm still having this problem. Now I have a bunch of bookmarks in my main bookmark folder that I'm going to have to sort when I can find the time and have access to a desktop computer.
This, combined with the ongoing youtube functionality problems, has motivated me to give Opera a try. Unlike other mobile browsers it seems that lately Firefox has been having a hard time maintaining basic functionality.
I'll second this , and probably water here, but bookmark on Android issues:
1) long delays to see subfolders
2) won't remember the last used folder for saves. My understanding is that FF Android doesn't offer a short list of recent folders. Mine doesn't. But what I can't wrap my head around, is that it has chosen one odd all folder to always go back to, not the start of the bookmarks hierarchy.
3) why do I need to click the 3-dot menu to see if the page is bookmarked. Then click again to dismiss it having the star outline that is filled in of it had a bookmark is convenient. Over and over and over.
4) can't export/save to my device (phone or tablet). The with around is too sync to a computer?? And if I didn't have one? Or don't want them synced for any number of reasons. Shocked to see dictating this policy of only one way to go to save your files Thankfully I do have a desktop. What if i didn't? Android so no backup for you? And genuinely my desk top is ancient, haswell era beast. It's not much longer for the world...
I love so much of what it is, what out does, what out stands for historically, and for our future... BUT Bookmark management REALLY makes FF Android so tedious, it's hard to recommend it.
