Why is it I cannot access my E Mails that are older than two weeks. I can access E Mails I have received but only for a short time at present two weeks.

In account settings, syncrhonization & storage, is Thunderbird set to delete messages after a certain period of time?
Check inbox folder properties (right click on the folder), retention settings also.
Are the messages that you seek in the trash folder?
Are they available in webmail?
