I don't want the original email included in my reply. Just my reply. Is there a way to do this?

When I hit reply, the original email is included in my reply. I only want my reply. I have to delete the original email - in inconvenience. Is there a way to set it up to just a blank email to type my reply? I haven't been able to figure it out if there is. Thank you for your kind attention to my problem.

If I find handy, as it "quotes" the last email I looked at. very handy for quoting others without all the baggage that goes with hitting forward or reply.
