I would say its a firewall problem in avg or a feature in avg is conflicting with the firefox browser
To confirm whether Firefox is still installed on your system, try running it this way: on the Start menu, type or paste the following into the search box and press Enter:
firefox.exe
Does Firefox start? Does it give you any error messages?
try what jscher2000 said to see if it is still installed on your hard drive
You can also check the Firefox installation folder in this location.
