This only happens on Yahoo Mail, when I refresh, I get the yellow bar that says FF needs an additional plugin, I click the install missing plugin box, click it, up comes the plugin finder, but it does nothing, finds nothing. Ever. I uninstalled and then reinstalled FF, reset the plugin reg dat file, deleted it both with FF running and without. Nothing stops it and I have no idea what is going on. Plugin page says all my plugins are up to date.

How I missed that I don't know. I did run the flash uninstaller before updating and thought I had reinstalled it too, but didn't. All's working well again. Thank you!!!  :^) gene

This started after the Tuesday patch updates, which also included a Flash update and Acrobat reader update, if that helps anyone figure out what is going on. Thanks!  :^) gene

Can you see any indication of the content type (MIME type) which can't be played? For example, the MIME types for Windows Media Player include application/x-mplayer2 and video/x-ms-wmv. Does anything like that show in the URL or elsewhere when you use the "find plugin" feature?

No, nothing, no hint as to what plugin is missing. It says additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page and the install missing plugins box, which brings up the plugin finder which just sits there doing nothing. I disabled all plugins, still shows up. Deleted pluginreg.dat both with and without FF running no change. And only on Yahoo Mail. The check plugin page says they are all up to date.

You do have the new Windows Media Player plugin installed (np-mswmp), so that is not the problem.

You do not have the Flash plugin installed according to the system details list.

You may also have to disable or uninstall the VLC plugin as that plugin can interfere with other plugins.
