the menu bar is grayed cannot activate. the back/forward arrows are grayed, cannot activate. yesterday all worked fine ... today everything sucks!

Try to open a new window via Ctrl + N

If that new window works then close the not working window.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Firefox is sucking really bad right now. There seem to be no solutions posted for this problem. Firefox 5 updated and then this problem started. Went back to Firefox 4 but problem now persists. This is crazy. I might have to go back to IE.
