Calendar and contacts synchronization with google account
Hello,
I am struggling to set up calendar and contacts sync between Thunderbird (v155@ubuntu26.04) and my google account. I use a university account to access google services, so my google account is not some.name@gmail.com but some.name@myuniversity.cz. I understand that Thunderbird somehow needs to invoke OAuth2 process with google, but I do not know, what to fill in the "Hostname" or "Location" fields for Contacts and Calendar, respectively. Any help? Thank you.

What does your university suggest you use as endpoints for caldav and carddav respectively?

Hi,
my university does not provide any instruction, but I have asked Claude AI and obtained the solution. For those running into the same problem:
Hostname (for Contacts): https://www.googleapis.com/carddav/v1/principals/you@myuniversity.edu/lists/default/
Location (for Calendar): https://apidata.googleusercontent.com/caldav/v2/you@myuniversity.edu/events/
For username, use you@myuniversity.edu in both cases. If you have multiple calendars, you will see a list to pick from. This worked for me, but Claude says the admins of your institution CAN limit access to Google Workspace services by external apps.
