can you add an option into the program that when it cant read the local emails from the disk for some reason, then it would ask for my permission to re-download everything and/or add an option to close or restart the program?

there is some really annoying bug when the Pc is in the process of using all of the available Ram (for some reason) and when i open TB at the same time, everything gets really slow, and instead of actually pausing to figure out what is wrong, the ******** ********** ****** just starts to throw in even more work to download all of the emails again for some reason, not even giving any explanation why it wants to do it in the 1st place....................... (while the screen even just blanks out, just because there isnt enough Ram avail to display all of this *********** *****........)

I am sure you feel better venting, but why ask Thunderbird to load if you machine is already working at capacity? It will have to load large files from your local disk, so without reaching out to re-download anything is will further stress the system. If you want Thunderbird to start in offline mode then set your shortcut to do so. By modifying the command line in the shortcut to include the -offline parameter in the quotes, Thunderbird will not seek new mail on startup or undertake any internet related tasks. That is your asks permission step. You will need to place Thunderbird into online mode manually once it is started offline.

It sounds like your system really does not have sufficient processing capacity for the loads you are asking it to carry if this issue is bothering you. The team do publish system requirements for Thunderbird, but like the ones Microsoft publish for Windows, they are woefully inadequate for an acceptable experience. The product will install and load, but that is about all. Most things need to be multiplied by about 4 or even 8 likewise Windows 10 is supported, but it becomes unceasingly difficult as a user on the operating system as antivirus products attempt to step up and block the unpatched vulnerabilities and sometimes legitimate software that uses those features.
