I have both my Comcast and Hotmail accounts on Thunderbird but it appears the incoming mail dumps them together. How can I keep both but make them separate?
I can't remember when I did not use Thunderbird for my email accounts. Recently, when my son had to reinstall it, both my Comcast and Hotmail accounts are there but are combined. I used to see them separately especially for incoming mail. I figured out how to send an email using a particular one. However, it confused me to have the mail combined. I'm sure this is a simple fix. Please tell me how to do it. Many thanks, Karen Williams karenowilliams@comcast.net and keltickaren@hotmail.com

It may be as simple as setting View|Folders|All. View|Folders|Unified, for instance, would present your Inboxes all combined together.
This setting is in Thunderbird's main menu, which appears across the top of its main window. Use alt or F10 to make the menu appear if it isn't already visible.
Alternatively, if Thunderbird has been set up afresh, then it's possible that your two accounts have been set to share a common Inbox. We can come back to this if the All thing doesn't work out.
First: Cannot locate View/Folders/All. Second: alt F10 does nothing
Yes, it appears the two accounts have been set up to share a common inbox.
Now what?
Open Account Settings: Thunderbird menu: Tools: Account Settings
Expand the options available for the e-mail account on the left side and select "Server Settings". Then click the "Advanced" button I show in my first screenshot below.
Then in the "Advanced Account Settings", select "Inbox for this account", as I illustrate in my second screenshot.
Do this for each e-mail address.
