Sending of a message failed because the Outgoing server (SMTP) send@xtra.co.nz failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections.' This has happened irregularly over the last 2 months or so, even with a complete shutdown of all devices, power off and restarts. This is occurring in New Zealand. I have tried the suggestions from the web a few times, they have not helped

Suddenly thunderbird will not accept emails from Yahoo. It use to. The email shows up with a line through it like it has been deleted and the message is blank. How do I fix it? Someone suggested looking at options to see if it's blocked but I cant find the option button

Our email comes through SaskTel. They are making changes and suggest that we contact any other platforms we use to confirm they support DMARC-compliant email sending and to see if any updates are needed. Please provide this information to me. Thank You.

A message failed to send due to some issue with the mail server, and Thunderbird said I could choose to Send Later, which I chose to do. But that message disappeared (to me) - wasn't in Drafts, where did it go? Thanks,

I'm having issues adding this email to Thunderbird. I did the steps below, but I am unable to add this email:

1. I enter my name and email (see image 1), then click Continue. 2. Outlook tab opens in my browser (see image 2). I enter my password and click Next. 3. Tab changes to Thunderbird - You're all Set (see image 3). 4. I go back to Thunderbird, and I see this (see image 4), then I click the Continue button. 5. After I click the Continue button, I see an error message (see image 5). 6. The email I tried to add isn't added, but the password is added to Thunderbird (see image 6).

When I go to https://outlook.live.com/mail/ in the browser I am logged in and can see my emails etc. So, the email address and password I entered is definitely correct. Also, Outlook has given Thunderbird access to the email account (see image 7).

Please advise what the issue is and how to fix it, so I can add the email to Thunderbird.

Thunderbird 1 of 7 working Spectrum email accounts stopped retrieving email. Tried to setup the account on new computer and it will to connect to Spectrum's mail server. Able to setup the other 6 on new install Tried under windows and Linux same problem.

I have an email account that was establish 30 years ago that suddenly stop working in Thunderbird but it is accessible through Spectrum's web server.

Spectrum wants me to verify Thunderbird is not the problem. Sounds like passing the buck to me.

I need some help with this one.

I use Thunderbird on my desktop and since early June, I have not been able to receive any new messages but I can still send. Everything works fine on webmail (Yahoo) and phone (Samsung Galaxy), it's just my desktop which is affected . I asked Duck AI about this and this is what I got...

I have had Thunderbird on my Mac Monterey synced to my Comcast email address with no problems. Usually I have to enter my Comcast password when I send the first message for the day. It has caused no real problems since I obtained this computer, probably sometime in 2021. Within 2023 I obtained a Windows 10, onto which I also put Thunderbird. Last November I upgraded to Windows 11 had kept Thunderbird. I did not do the upgrade myself. The technician used Google Drive and OneDrive for backup. I added a GMAIL address on that system to my Thunderbird installation on Windows 11.

For the past week Thunderbird has been popping up a Comcast site requesting that I enter my Comcast password. This is bizarre! How can I get my Thunderbird to behave more normally on my Windows 11? Thanks in advance. The technician only did the upgrade. I did the subsequent program reinstallations.

I also regularly use the Mail Merge add-on and this has worked great. However, just come to use it and it has put 80 messages into my Outbox but I cannot get them to send!

I hit the "Send Unsent Messages" and nothing happens.

Very frustrating and would be very happy if someone can help identify the problem!

Last week I deleted about 600 emails from the inbox, leaving about 500. I shut down the computer for 5 days then rebooted. TB seemed to start up ok. I deleted the remaining 500 emails. Emptied the trash folder. Tried to pull new emails to the inbox. I usually receive 100 - 200 emails per day but could not receive any this time.

I updated my Mac to Tahoe 25.5.2 recently. After the update my e-mail – Thunderbird- would no longer work. I was able to connect Thunderbird to the my university gmail account and can now read my e-mail, but I am unable to send e-mail from Thunderbird and I get a request for a password. When I enter my University password, I get the same message back. I only have one University password. What password is it asking for? The help lien at the university if not of any help. The segment below from University material point ou that I do need a second password. Where do I get it from?

2. If you are a UMN Google (Gmail) user sending from a desktop client like Thunderbird, you must use the authenticated relay smtp.gmail.com and sign in with an active Google account plus a Google Desktop/Mobile client password (your regular UMN password may not work for this).

I ran TB in troubleshooting mode and the problem was still there. I deleted the account and created it again but it did not help. I killed TB and restarted, no joy. I rebooted Windows (build 26200.8875), no help. I have a working hotmail account so I compared the Account Settings and Server Settings, they are identical. Both accounts can contact the Mail Server and I get the Certificate ok. I could add the hotmail email account to my Mail app on iPhone and iPad and that worked fine, so seems like a Windows Thunderbird issue. I tried changing the password of the account to the real password but then restarting TB I got an error message: "login.microsoftonline.com needs you to confirm access again to keep syncing with your account. Username: <foo>@hotmail.com". I do not know how to handle that.

When I press the send icon in The Messaging Company email nothing happens. Therefore I cannot send emails. Have tried various port numbers in the outgoing server and secure connection is established.

I have just installed Thunderbird on a replacement computer (running Linux Mint). The version I have is 140.7.1esr. I use a POP Gmail account. For a change it installed and connected seamlessly, but I cannot persuade it to download anything other than the messages in my Inbox. I have right clicked as recommended on my Gmail address, but see no 'Subscribe' to select. What am I doing wrong?
