All of my minimised firefox windows have disappeared. If I go to history and try to restore them, I only have today's windows listed. I can't go back to 2025! I can I recover my missing windows? Thanks and regards, Rob

Is there a way to force the Ctrl+K shortcut to always move focus to the search bar? More and more websites steal ctrl-k to trigger internal search which is super irritating. Any config/extension/trick to force the default behavior?

OS: Linux Recently, firefox has been annoying me with not closing a tab when I click the X like normal. I have to right click and close it, or press ctrl w. I am unable to move tabs around, as well. I am not sure since when this next bit has been happening, but I am also unable to interact with many elements of the top bar. The only thing of the firefox ui besides the websites themselves that let me interact with them at the moment is the home button, the new tab button, bookmarked sites, and that box icon on the left corner that lets you look at previously closed tabs. My Firefox's version should around, I believe it is 140.5.0 ESR. Thank you in advance. Update: Upon a restart of firefox, it appears to be working again as normal.. However, the bit with tabs not closing when the X is clicked and not being able to move tabs around has been happening multiple previous times, and it may come back.

Please help, can anyone answer me. I am on Windows 11. Asus laptop PC. On Google Chrome, any streaming website I used with autoplay enabled would KEEP full screen mode ON after changing episodes. It would automatically go to a new page with the following episode and remain full screen. Why doesn't Firefox have this feature?? I'm seriously considering going back to Google Chrome for this one small feature. Every time I had any streaming service playing with autoplay enabled, I didn't have to manually select the full screen option every time. I am having to stand up and manually click full screen function. Every. Single. Time. This needs to change PLEASE.

I just bought my boyfriend a new iMac. We are having trouble loading many sites and platforms using the latest Firefox browser. The list is growing but includes Facebook, Meetup, Wikipedia, chess.com, nytimes.com - in all cases, rather than a login screen, we get an error message or a home page loads with no access to other pages or login area. I've cleared the cache, restarted, tried going directly to the site to log in, but nothing works. Everything is fine when using Chrome, but we prefer Firefox. Is this a conflict in the new Apple OS? Is there a fix?

I lost my Firefox on my pc. I thought i needed to download it again but when I downloaded it, it was a different version and none of my bookmarks were available. I don't know how to restore my old firefox. Help, please.

Issue Summary: My website (mass-doc.com) displays blank thumbnails in Firefox's New Tab "Recent Activity" section, while other websites (Claude.ai, Ahrefs, FamilySearch, Fox News, Xfinity) display their OG images correctly in the same section. I've been using Firefox for a while, and while there are many things I like about it, it has always been a resource hog. In the past I could get around this by just killing Firefox in Windows Resource Manager and restarting, but ever since getting a new computer an upgrading to Windows 11, it's gotten worse. Every couple of days my computer freezes for 10 or more minutes, I'm having to do a hard reboot ever few days, and I'm even bluescreening about twice a month. I'm pretty sure Firefox is the culprit because killing it will usually resolve the issue.

I'm wondering if there is some way to put Firefox in a sandbox so it does not consume nearly all available memory and other computer resources. It is by far the biggest consumer of resources on my system and I do not want to dedicate 4GB+ of memory to an app that is just showing a couple of web pages and playing YouTube videos.

I am incredibly frustrated by the continuing problem of all my Bookmarks disappearing with the usual "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. Some security software can cause this problem." This issue has been going on since NOVEMBER!!! I usually manage to get my Bookmarks back by closing all txt files that I need to keep open, store them in a new folder on my laptop, and then restart my laptop. This time, it didn't work.

Can anyone steer me to a permanent solution to this problem?

Using Firefox as my browser, I have over the last few days been unable to maintain a connection with the internet.

You will please excuse me as I am a 70 year old with limited understanding of the interaction of the internet and its terminology.

A couple of things you may need to know to offer me advise I just received a refurbished Dell laptop with windows 11. I'm using firefox as the browser comcast xfinity is my ISP I subscribe to NordVPN and NordPass

I am having a problem maintaining a connection to firefox.

I can look on the taskbar and see that I am connected via Comcast and the NordVPN and yet I will have displays of "you are not connected to the internet" or similar wording. If I need to include that, at these times, I look at the task bar and I confirm that I am connected.

In addition to this Windows 11 laptop, I have two active android phones. My Gmail, last I checked on the laptop was displaying vividly inaccurate time stamps to incoming emails. My phones however show the emails with accurate timestamps. (A difference of 4 to 6 hours like EST New York to middle of the Pacific Ocean)

I do have photos of these events, screenshots of sorts... but they're on the phone. I'm currently using the firefox browser to offer this post/question, but I sit in anticipation of it acting erratically. Finally I have downloaded a different browser to use while the firefox issue is being trouble shot.

Rather than add more possibly irrelevant information, I'll send now and let the community ask me questions.

So, by default, what domain or IP does Firefox send API requests to when it fetches the recommended stories on the new tab page?

Hi. I just switched to Windows Defender for antivirus. On Google Chrome I had to add an extension so Defender will work with Chrome to detect malicious websites.

On the eicar.org website the test virus is stopped on the Microsoft and Chrome browsers, but not with Firefox.

How do I set up Defender to work with Firefox?

My SSD boot drive crashed -- Rebuilt system (brand new SSD boot drive) and reloaded all of my data from a separate backup, however Firefox profile is gone. I have copies of the old profiles including the places files, etc. Following Mozilla's instructions I reloaded the old profiles. Firefox starts right up but *without* my bookmarks, etc. Unfortunately there was no "old Firefox data" folder saved and I could not retrieve the bookmark specific backup. Thoughts? Thanks!

I used to have the button right visible on my Toolbar and I used it often to toggle dark and light views of websites. Now it's disappeared off the toolbar. When I click the jigsaw piece button for Extensions it only shows a few, hardly all of my installed extensions. Only if i select Manage Extensions under the jigsaw will I see all my extensions, so then I can find Dark Reader and toggle its status on or off. That's an awkward multi-step process compared to just having the button showing. So how can I get the button back?

Hi I don't like to search in address bar. When i open a new tab/ page the search cursor goes into address bar. i have to click in search bar in the middle of the page in order to do my search. Can I avoid this and directly search? Regards
