Hello.. I was deleteing some mail in my inbox and then the program burped and said there is no more space. I tried to download new mail and got the no space message when I noticed that the whole inbox was gone.

I managed to recover the inbox folder and now I'm trying to put it back into the email program through windows explorer but when I try to paste it into the folder with the index.msf file I get the error that I don't have permission and must have administrative permission to copy the folder. I went through the properties and security tab and gave "everyone" full permission for the inbox, but it still won't let me past the folder back where it belongs.

How can I get the Inbox with it's mail back into my Thunderbird program?....

I'm using a Lenovo laptop with Windows 11.

There was something changed with the latest update 156.0.1 in regards to how new tabs open. I have been using the extension "Always right" for years as I wanted all my newly opened tabs and bookmarked websites to open right next to the one I am at, in order that I open them in. Had no issues until the recent update. So tabs and bookmarks.

To explain this better, lets start with tabs only. Scenario 1 - say the tab I am on is "youtube" and the tab right from it at this moment is "google" tab. So: youtube > google > rest of tabs. While on youtube, I click on 3 videos/links from that "youtube" tab to be opened as new tabs, in the order that I want to watch them, using the middle mouse button. It used to open them in order: youtube > 1st vid > 2nd > 3rd > google > rest. In other words, it pushed the "google" tab and opened the new video tabs in order that I clicked them in between the two. Scenario 2 - bookmarked toolbar links. They behave similar but slightly different since opening those instantly jumps to the tab, which is fine. If I use the middle mouse button to open amazon for example while I am on the "youtube" tab, it would do the same thing: youtube > amazon > google > rest, only it will instantly jump to amazon, but the important part is that amazon is next to the tab I was on (youtube in this case).

Now though, in scenario 1 with tabs, if I open 3 new video tabs from the "youtube" tab, the LATEST one is the one that ends up next to the first one, so youtube > 3rd video > 2nd > 1st > google > rest. In other words, ANY new tab is forced next to the current one, rather than in the order of opening like it was before.

Turning the extension off "fixes" scenario 1 and opens them in order again, but then opening a bookmarked website from your toolbar shoots you ALL THE WAY to the right. So scenario 2 is ruined. To extend on the previous example from scenario 2, if I have "youtube" and "google" is next to it, and I go to open amazon from my toolbar, it goes youtube > google > rest > amazon. With 3 tabs that might not be that big of an issue, but when you have 100 tabs and I am currently doing work on tab 1, your bookmarked link that you just opened with middle mouse button suddenly catapults you and opens as 101 instead of 2... I hope this is a bit clearer as to why it is a problem. You could have both scenarios work before with just this simple extension, but the update is now forcing me to choose between tabs opening properly in order as they should OR bookmark toolbar links opening next to the one I am on.

If there was some change to how tabs open in the latest update and the idea was to no longer need the extension, can we at least have the option to ALSO have any new websites opened from the bookmark toolbar open NEXT to our current one rather than at the very end?

When I start Firefox, open the application menu, and select Bookmarks, about 50 Bookmarks are displayed under "Recent bookmarks". Many of the bookmarks are not recent. Some are months old and several might be years old.

I've used Firefox for years and only noticed this because I'm trying to help a friend who is having trouble with and old Windows 10 laptop. I installed Firefox 1560.1 (64bit) and added a lot of folders and bookmarks using "Manage bookmarks" or Ctrl-Shift-o. It currently only has 42 bookmarks displayed under "Recent Bookmarks" because I started Rt-clicking and deleting them before I figured that this deletes the bookmark that I had added to a folder in addition to removing it from the Recent bookmark list.

I feel this feature (Recent Bookmarks) totally negates the privacy and security that the Clear Browsing data and Never remember history options USED to give me.

I'm being regularly logged out of my Firefox account from Firefox Mobile. I use Firefox daily and regularly want to send tabs to my other devices, so it is annoying to have to log in again and again. I suspect that the reason for the lack of session persistence is my permanent connection to ProtonVPN servers. I come to this conclusion, because I'm experiencing problems connecting to the following two web pages from devices (Firefox Mobile, but also Desktop) connected to ProtonVPN servers (free/paid tiers both): - accounts.firefox.com - support.mozilla.org This especially affects the login process in Firefox Mobile, which can only be performed after disconnecting from ProtonVPN.

Please remove ProtonVPN server IP addresses from your blacklist, so that privacy conscious users may continue to use Firefox/Mozilla services without disruptions.

It's very odd. Normally moving an email, say from the Inbox to the relevant year's archive, takes "no time at all".

Which is true for all the mailboxes shown on the attached screenshot, EXCEPT for the four at the bottom. Moving even one message from Inbox to Yiddish can take ten seconds or longer (with the dreaded "Not Responding" occasionally). Moving something in the opposite direction is also screwy, only from those four.

I had thought that it was because they're rather large. This first started when there were just Yiddish and MSW, and I split off most of the earlier years into the archives shown. To no avail.

It's only an annoyance, but I'm puzzled about how such a thing could happen.

Also very slow tagging or untagging a message just in those mailboxes.

I have a completely vanilla install of TB fully up to date as of this writing [it is version = 156.0.1 (aarch64) and I checked for updates], no extensions, no proxy, on a new OSX 27.0 (Golden Gate) computer and even when idling it is using substantial resources. The only thing even remotely non-basic is their is the Proton Mail Bridge to connect to Proton Mail for one of the linked email accounts, but that is its own little program with its own threads and takes almost no system resources even when sending or receiving mail (which is not happening currently.) Look at the attached screen shot.

In the screen shot I have left Thunderbird to idle for about an hour. No new mail in that time and other then clicking on or off the window to bring it to the fore I have not interacted with the program at all myself. Meanwhile Thunderbird and its Thunderbird GPU Helper are using substantial amounts of the CPU and GPU, have a combine total of 86 threads (more then any two other things running except the kernal tasks) and are hogging ram (not depicted).

Meanwhile among a few other applications (Apple Music, OfficeLibre, etc...) I also have Brave Browser opened in the background running with two windows and a total of 8 tabs wherein Brave is actively downloading GB of data from MEGA as well as performing other admittedly lighter tasks. Even when doing all this, Brave barely registers on computer resources compared to Thunderbird and Thunderbird GPU Helper when they are just idling.

Is this all proton mail's fault with the Proton Mail Bridge? If not is there anything I can do to quell the hunger for computer resources of this voracious beast of an email client that is TB and uses resources as if it were a video game even when idling?

None of the methods listed, either via Thunderbird or on the Internet in general work. Or, if they are supposed to work, the directions are not complete or accurate.

I'm trying to move stored emails from Outlook 2019 POP3 Windows10 32-bit into your latest Thunderbird. NO luck. Yes, I get a .CSV file from Outlook, and change it to MS-DOS version, then nothing. Similar with names/address. There is a lot of talk about having to use EML as the transfer medium--but, Outlook can't create EML. Worse, within Thunderbird, even with you Import/ExportTools NG add-on, there is no commone EML linkage to make the transfers work. SO...where is a guaranteed method to make these transfers work?

As of now Thunderbird is just a crude mail client--I can receive emails, I can send emails (but have to manually enter the address). None of the old Outlook emails are available. None of the old Outlook addresses are available.

Don't mean to be so cynical; but, I'm so tired of software making promises and then not delivering.

I been enjoying the free VPN for days and I liked the fast connection, free and access for many days of uses.

then at middle of use, suddenly VPN stopped working, I looked at setting and noticed it's gone despite the shield icon at top left shows purple dot (likely showing VPN is on). I thought it's visual bug from settings so I get out app, restarted , then opened, still VPN option didn't show up, even the purple dot is gone. Then I updated Firefox android, still same. What happened? I got revoked access to VPN?

My Thunderbird connected to my gmail is running slow. Thunderbird is not running slow on my other (non-gmail) account. It takes 10-15 seconds for an e-mail (from gmail) to be deleted or moved within Thunderbird. I have tried "compacting folders" and "repairing folders" and that does not help. Please help!
