I want to print only the last message in a thread of messages

I have to keep hard copies of e mails. The problem is that as a trhead gets added to it means the print outs get longer and longer and are of course repatative Is there a setting that allows me to only print the most recent mail in a thread?

Have you tried to open the last message in a new window? If that includes the messages you do not want to print, you could limit the printing to e.g. the first page (in the print dialog).

For more advanced options you could look at the PrintingTools add-on.
