What method do you use for pasting?
Right-click and Paste Edit and Paste Ctrl + V
Experiment and see which is most stable.
Android beta version 28. behavior just showed up with the last update..
(Pretty hard to do a ctrl-v on my Razr)

Sorry, there was no indication in your question that you were using an Android.
I selected Android from the icons when asking the question, but apparently this web/blog whatever it is, didn't tag the O/S....
