How can I search using the browser window by typing a search query into the window? FF now requires me to add www before anything I type in the browser window.

The problem is searching from the address bar?

Are you running Firefox 22 or Firefox 23? There was an important change with how search works in Firefox 23, so please clarify your version. Thanks.

Meanwhile, this could help temporarily, but if it breaks again, then there may be a problem add-on, settings file, or external software interfering.

checked add ons and google search was disabled... enabled it and all is as it was.

Thanks !

sorry for the delay.... I neglected to mention it is on my android Galaxy S2.

FF 23

Yes... the address bar.... it now requires you to insert www. before anything you type. Prior to some event, maybe an update, it would search by default when no www. was entered.
I'll check the link you posted...
Thanks !

OK... so I could link the link above on the laptop but could not find on the android search add on thru mozilla.

I poked around some more on the net and checked search enable on the google search and it started working .... so I either turned it off without knowledge or it reset when it upgraded.
It is fixed now....
Thanks for the help
