Due to Apple's restrictions on the web browser engine being used on iOS/iPadOS the Firefox is using webkit and not the Gecko that desktop and Android versions use.

Mozilla is doing some work in adding extension like features in Firefox for iOS as for example there is the experimental Ad blocker feature https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/block-ads-firefox-ios
