I can no longer print emails
I've installed TB on my new laptop and now, when I try to print an email, my list of printer options don't show up in the drop-down menu, only options to print to a PDF file. It says it's printing, but it's not. How do I restore my list of printers?

Dare I say, You're a little bit comp-savvy yourself. You have done en excellent job troubleshooting and describing your issue to us thus far. And, you're right. that driver is something you are going to want installed on your machine. If you know what the brand and model of your printer is, I might be able to point you to the driver your would need to install.
Just an option! Then, when you're friend comes over you can focus on catching up, instead of IT support. Good Luck & Please keep us posted on your progress!Read this answer in context 👍 0

Sorry to hear that, If you're only seeing PDF when you try to print, that usually means there is an issue with your installed printers. Good News is: Should be fixable. Let’s take a look.
1. Check Windows Printer Settings First
- Make sure your printers are correctly installed and recognized by Windows:
- (On your PC) Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners
Your physical printer should show up here by name. If it doesn’t, add it using “Add a printer or scanner” Option.
2. Restart Thunderbird, Printer, PC
- Fully close Thunderbird
- Restart your computer with the printer turned on and connected
- Then open Thunderbird again and try printing
Thank you! I discovered that on my own last night and did get my printer to be recognized, but there's no longer a driver listed for it (hp laserjet 2015dn), so I used their "generic" driver. The test page printed out just fine, but trying to print anything else was just gibberish. After trying all other recommendations, I gave up and hit the sack at 2am. I'm now waiting for my puter-savvy friend to come over. I'm hoping the driver from my old laptop can be copied to my new one? Who knows. Thanks again!

Thank you once again, Mike! My new friend turns out to be nearly as savvy as my late husband who was a complete puter geek (he introduced computer modelling to the Ford Motor company when they hired him in 1975), so it only took a few minutes for the magic to happen. I'd gone to HP's website to get the old driver, but didn't see where to start, but my friend did know how to navigate their site and got the driver. So, I'm all set. Thanks again!
