I suddenly found a Thunderbird_profile_backup.zip popping up on the sidebar with more than 300.00 old mails and I can´t get the file deleted. (not enough memory) What can I do?

You somehow placed the backup file in Thunderbird's data directory. It's not possible to delete this from within Thunderbird.

Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Folder > Show in Finder > Mail > Local Folders > then delete the zip file
