Firefox has recently (within about a week or so) begun to crash randomly for me when switching between open tabs. The problem can be reliably replicated with ~6 tabs open, while quickly cycling between them. Firefox has been updated, and the crash still occurs even in troubleshooting mode. The most recent reported crash is Crash ID: 54793083-0841-470c-ae8a-687030240105. The flagged 'Crash Reason' is EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_WRITE

After logging on this morning, I attempted to replicate the issue before trying new suggestions and the problem seems to have stopped? I can't say for certain that it is resolved, but I have had no recurrence for some time now.

My best guess is that my recently updated installation was calling on mis-allocated memory or something that persisted through multiple launches, forced program terminations, and re-installations, but was resolved when I just turned off my computer for the night.

Thank you all for your help!

What security software are you running? Does it haappen with Firefox inSafe Mode?

The problem persists in Troubleshooting mode.

I'm not running any particular security software that would interact with Firefox or would not be disabled in troubleshooting mode.

I've had about 24 crashes just today.

What is the name of the particular security software? Windows home or pro? If pro try this option and see if you have the same issue. https://www.howtogeek.com/399290/how-to-use-windows-10s-new-sandbox-to-safely-test-apps/

I'm just using Microsoft Defender at the moment.

I'm using Windows 11 Home, and I do not appear to have an option for 'Windows Sandbox' in my windows features.

Roger that. Does it happen under a different Windows account?

Could you inadvertently slightly dragging the tab when switching fast ?

Try changing browser.tabs.allowTabDetach to false in about:config.

Does it still happen in a new profile (without signing into sync account)? An easy way to test a new profile is to install Developer Edition and see if it happens there or refresh your existing profile.
