I have been using Firefox for ages and never had a problem - love it - but now I see the remark: Firefox has ended support for Windows 8 and Vista on my screen at the right top corner. It also will no longer update my computer.

I do have and use Windows 10 - so I don't see what is the problem? I tried to refresh and that didn't work either.

Please help because I like to stay with Firefox but I do need to update and keep my computer secure.

I am not very computer savy so please tell me what to do in simple word.

Thank you for your help Christine

Your system details indicate you are on Windows Vista so you need to reset your "user agent" settings if you are actually using Windows 10. See How to reset the default user agent on Firefox

from your duplicate thread at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1432664

Your useragent used to post this thread is Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; Win64; x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/115.0

The NT 6.0 is Windows Vista and Windows server 2008. The latest version to still support WindowsXP/Vista was 52.9.0esr.

The common reason for this is the Firefox user is running Firefox in Windows Compatibility mode for some reason. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/make-older-apps-or-programs-compatible-with-windows-783d6dd7-b439-bdb0-0490-54eea0f45938#ID0EBH=Windows_10

Firefox 115esr is kept up to date with security and stability fixes as the last update 115.15.0esr is planned for in September 2024. ESR short for Extended support Release and meant more for Enterprise users in mind who want long term stability. However since support for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 has ended as of Fx 116.0 and later, this is a way for those Windows users to still get a current support version. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-users-windows-7-8-and-81-moving-extended-support
