Cannot remove address bar suggestions
Hello. I cannot remove the suggestions that appear in the drop down address bar suggestions list. Shift-delete does not work. Changing the search settings in tools does not work. There is no three dots that appear next to the URL, or a pop up that shows up if I hover over the link. They are stubbornly embedded on that bar and refuse to leave.
The only thing that works is to delete all history, but I don't want to do that. There may be some solution where I micromanage site permissions on a site by site basis but that's way too much work, and should not have to do that.
The URLs on the list themselves are totally random. I cannot figure out how Firefox decided that THESE are the URLs to feature. I visited like once, in a long string of activity.
Anyway, my inability to perform a simple task like right-click-delete or demand that it "stop doing that" is making me claustrophobic.

Search your bookmarks (Ctrl+B) and history (Ctrl+H) for the unwanted site, delete all occurrences, then visit about:support, scroll down to the "Places Database" heading and click the "Verify Integrity" button.
You can only remove history visits from the drop-down list of the location bar via "Shift + Delete".
Do the items you want to remove have a special icon attached like a star (bookmark) or a pin (coming from the new tab page) ?

Shift-delete does not work. I arrow down to a line item, click shift-del, and nothing happens.
The entries have no special symbols or anything. Just the URL of a few pages I visited since I last cleared the cache.
If you are having trouble removing address bar suggestions in Firefox, it may be due to a browser setting or an issue with your browsing history. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:
Clear Browsing History and Cache: Clearing your browsing history and cache can often resolve issues with address bar suggestions. Go to "Menu" (three horizontal lines) > "Library" > "History" > "Clear Recent History." Select "Everything" as the time range, and make sure to check "Browsing & Download History" and "Cache" in the list of items to clear. Then click "Clear Now."
Disable Suggestions: If you want to disable address bar suggestions altogether, you can do so in Firefox settings:
Go to "Menu" (three horizontal lines) > "Preferences" (or "Options" on Windows). In the "Privacy & Security" section, scroll down to the "Address Bar" section. Uncheck the box next to "Provide search suggestions" and "Show search suggestions in address bar results."
Why can't it just do what it's supposed to do? I ought to be able to hit Shift + Delete and remove any address I want. I shouldn't have to go to Setting, Preferences, or anywhere else. And why, when this spit doesn't work, do you "experts" claim that we've changed something. I'll let you in on a little hint: if deleting an address is causing us problems, do y'all really think that we've changed anything in settings? The answer is a resounding "No, no we haven't."
Something similar to this was fixed in today's Nightly 119:
Bug 1844771 - 'Remove from History' menu item/command doesn't work on Adaptive History results
Duplicates: Bug 1849395 - Can't remove entry from firefox suggest with shift delete Bug 1851628 - Shift+Delete on URLBar history suggestions randomly fails

The icons I want to delete do have a pin when I hover my cursor over the icon. I have tried all the suggestions I have seen in these replies and nothing has changed. Also, I don't use my browser for more than browsing.

I did this, but I don't know what it's supposed to do. Nothing changed.
