Please bear with me. I'm only semi-literate about this stuff -- & very easily out of my element! A bit complicated: Thought I had virus infection so restores system back about 2 weeks. That caused Thunderbird to say "wrong version" & die. Went to Mozilla & downloaded & successfully installed new Thunderbird which also properly connected to and showed all my Yahoo and Gmail emails. That worked for several days until today. Clicking Thunderbird to bring it up demanded a reinstall so I clicked ok to start it. All went well until I got to a page that asked me to "delete" all old emails, etc. Virtually no other options available to I tentatively clicked "yes." Then all I got was the few emails I have so far today. Id like to get back all my yahoo an gmail emails, some going back years. Is that possible? If yes, please advise.

If they are IMAP accounts, they're still there. If they are POP accounts, they may be gone. I suggest checking your PC in File Explorer at c:\(yourname)\appdata\roaming for a folder named thunderbird. If present, check for a folder named Profile. If there is a folder with name such as 123456.default (or similar), that may be it. Contents of profile folders will be similar to the screenshot I attached. If there, we can take next steps to get your mail back.
