Firefox crashes mac?

Hi, for the past week whenever I open Firefox (FF) it works normally for about two minutes, then slows, then causes my entire mac to slow and freeze. If I don't force quit FF quickly, my mac crashes. Once I force quit FF everything is fine. I've been using Chrome for the past week or so hoping FF would fix itself with an update but no go.

Anyone else having this issues?

So I disabled all of my add-ons and that seems to have done the trick!

Is this in your computer: Extension shutdown: anttoolbar@ant.com

Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

While still in Safe Mode;

In the address box, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP- in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.

Yes. Is that the culprit?

I don't know. Is it on your add-ons list?

If so, re-enable all the others. Then restart the browser.

It could be the work of one of your add-ons, or it could be Hardware Acceleration. How to disable Hardware Acceleration {web link}

Type about:addons<enter> in the address box to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Disable a few add-ons, then Restart Firefox.

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All Of them.

If the problem continues, disable some more (restarting FF). Continue until the problem is gone. After, you know what group is causing the issue. Re-enable the last group ONE AT A TIME (restarting FF) until the problem returns.

Once you think you found the problem, disable that and re-enable all the others, then restart again. Let us know who the suspect is, detective.

Yes that was on the list. Scary to think one lil extension could cause the entire mac to crash. lol

Anyway, everything is working normally now. Thank you again for your help.

Glad to help. Safe Surfing.
