Every time I close Thunderbird & then reopen it rebuilds the files & I have to wait for up to 8 min for it to rebuild. Strange it only rebuilds inbox & trash???
How do I stop this rebuild process as it is very irritating sitting there waiting for this process to complete ??

Start *Windows'* safe mode with networking enabled - XP http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx Still In Windows safe mode, start thunderbird in safe mode - http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/safe-mode
Does problem go away?
also, is the thunderbird profile on a file share?
