Thunderbird: No way to see my Inbox of one specific account or to receive mail on this accounts

I have several Pop accounts and this morning I tried to get access to the mail, I had already loaded the day before, of one of my accounts. When I move my mouse to my Inbox to select the last message, this message disappeared and the same happened with the next one and no message of the Inbox is displayed anymore. This didn't happen with the over accounts. Then I tried to send a mail from another account to that failing account and I am unable to read in this test message. I can however send a message from the failing account. Note that all my mail accounts are pop accounts provided by my Internet access provider and the parameters of all my accounts are the same except of course the e-mail address.

Please can you help me to solve this problem? Thanks in advance and have a nice day
