TB for Mac - folder present in library profile but not show in TB
A folder (let's call it ABC123) that a couple of days ago was listed in the TB for Mac (38.5.1) folder pane is no longer listed. When I look in Library-Thunderbird-Profiles-ZZZZZ.default-Mail-Pop2.Sympatico.ca, I can see items with the missing folder name (ABC123.msf and ABC123.sbd). They look the same as all the other folders. But the others are all showing up just fine in TB but no sign of ABC123.
I tried a re-install. No change. I have hunted through all the working folders and ABC123 has not got moved into one of them. Any suggestions?

ABC123.sbd means the folder has sub folders. the MSF is an index. there should also be a file with no extension which is the actual data for the folder mails.
try deleting the xulstore.json and foldertree, json files with Thunderbird not running.
I tried the proposed solution sebveral times - as is, with a Compact, in Safe Mode, with Machine restart, etc. and it did not work.
I have several folders with sub-folders. All others are working fine. The attached image contains a summary of the results of a "Search" within the Library for files matching the names of four directories which I have shortened/coded as 1, 2, 3, and 4 in the attached. The Folder missing from the Folder Pane is coded as 1. Regarding the duplicated files, e.g., the two 1.sbd files, one is in the Profile, the other in the Caches folder of the Library.
There is only one foldertree.json in the Library and that is in the TB Profile. There are two xulstore.json, one in the Firefox folder, the other in the TB Profile folder and the latter (and the foldertree.json) is the only one I trashed.
Note that my Time Machine has backups. I have not investigated for differences between old and current settings but it is there if needed.
Thanks for your help so far.
Hi Matt:
I am still missing the folder from the folder pane. Any further suggestions based on the info I posted on the 13th January?
Thanks .. John
