Various Issues after Thunderbird Installation

I recently installed Thunderbird onto my Windows 9 34 bit system. I was really looking forward to being able to use the multiple identities/signature feature!

However, I am experiencing some issues after the install and getting everything setup.

  1. 1

I cannot open thunderbird. When I click the desktop icon it simply does not start the program nor does it seem to attempt to. After restarting computer it did work, but after awhile it stops opening again.

  1. 2

When trying to get new messages (which does work) I cannot actually view my inbox. Clicking the folder 'inbox' or 'read new messages' does nothing, almost like a dead link. I can only view my inbox if I right click and open the inbox in a new tab.

  1. 3

Once FINALLY in my inbox, I am able to read an email but not reply. I can select it and it displays..but clicking 'reply' does nothing - once again as if it's a dead link.

Please advise, as I would very much like to use thunderbird :)
