My internet service provider bmi.net is using a new e-mail server, apparently cPanel roundcube. I cannot download new messages through Mozilla Thunderbird. I always get the message "Login to server mail.bmi.net failed.

If your provider changed the server name and settings then you will need to add the account to Thunderbird with the new data. They need to provider you with the server name, the ports to use for both incoming and outgoing servers and the connection security settings. Do not change the existing account settings since Thunderbird will see this as a new account and remove all messages for the existing account. Once you get the new account working you can move the old messages over to the new account folders.
