I allowed an update from Firefox and now I get numerous pop-ups whenever I'm on the internet.

Please update to Firefox 31 Update Firefox to the latest release
After doing that, please do the following:
- Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware
- Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings
- Install www.adblockplus.org
