New Version Disabled an Add On that had all my Work Usernames and Passwords

I had an add On - Salesforce Logins that has all my Salesforce Logins - usernames, passwords. And I have about 45 of them. The new version just HOSED my add on and I can't get them back. How do I revert to the old version

https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/56.0/ Once you have reinstalled, you'll need disable the automatic updates in the options. The ESR of Firefox is probably safer to use as it's still being patched but you lose 6 months worth of performance improvements.

Alternatively http://www.basilisk-browser.org may be an option for those of us who want support but losing XUL is not an option.

In the event that the passwords information is lost, you should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can compress it using a password.

Hi trapezecoder, you may need to revert to Firefox 56 or switch to the Extended Support Release of Firefox 52.

However, I would like to learn more about the add-on and it doesn't jump out at me in a search.

Unique ID - if you open the Troubleshooting Information page and scroll down to the Extensions table, there should be a code in the ID column I can use to search for more information about the add-on. Either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
  • (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter

Full Details - to provide additional details, if you are so inclined, you could view a settings file in a Firefox tab and pull out the URLs associated with the add-on: where it installed from and where it updates from. To do that:

On the Troubleshooting Information page, in the first large table, click the "Open Folder" button to launch your profile folder in Windows Explorer. Resize this window so you can see the Troubleshooting Information page behind it.

Scroll down to extensions.json and drag and drop it onto the Troubleshooting Information page. If you have a lot of extensions, it does not expand the list. You can use the filter box in the upper right corner of the page (has a funnel icon) to search for force or some other part of the name. This will help you discover the add-on number in the list so if you have to cancel the filter to see the URLs, you will know where to look.
