Can' decrypt/verify messages due to NS_ERROR_FILE_TOO_BIG

Thunderbird/Enigmail no longer can decrypt/verify signed messages. Error console shows:

Error: NS_ERROR_FILE_TOO_BIG: Component returned failure code: 0x8052000f (NS_ERROR_FILE_TOO_BIG) [nsIFile.createUnique] Source File: resource://enigmail/mimeVerify.jsm Line: 450

each time I try to decrypt/verify. The message body is no longer displayed in this case, replies to such a message won't quote the message text.

I've tried deleting all the Thunderbird caches including global-messages-db.sqlite with no effect regarding my problem.

That is an enigmail issue... You will have to take it up with them
