Mozilla is now acting like Microsoft in that it does not honor the wishes of its customers. I DO NOT WANT TO UPGRADE TO ANOTHER VERSION OF FIREFOX THAT WILL ONE MORE TIME BREAK ALL OF MY THEMES, PLUG-INS, AND EVERYTHING ELSE I CARE ABOUT.

If I wanted to upgrade, I would upgrade. I don't, so stop asking me. Really - STOP!!! HOW DO I GET THESE MESSAGES TO STOP???

I should be able to get rid of these constant pestering messages by changing my Default User Agent (spoofing) by even with my DUA set to FF34, I STILL GET THESE STUPID MESSAGES.

Regarding answers to this question, if you don't want to help with the question, and instead ask me why I don't want to upgrade to the latest version of FF, it will be clear that you do not know how to read and/or have no clue on how to really help someone.

So, if your 'solution' to my problem is to ask me why I do not want to upgrade, or to try and tell me why I should upgrade, it will be a given that you have serious cognitive deficiencies and should really see a specialist, rather than spend time on these boards.

Thank you.

Have you tried Tool => Options => Advanced => Update?

There's option for Firefox updates, including Automatic update, ask to update and never update. That last might be the one you're looking for.

Thanks, but that has ALWAYS been set to "Never check for updates"

You should disable the Maintenance Service, too. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/what-mozilla-maintenance-service

I do not have Mozilla Maintenance Service installed.

Please provide a screenshot of the update "prompt" that you are getting.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-create-screenshot-my-problem

It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.
Then use the Browse .... button below the Post a Reply text box to upload the screenshot.

Here are two screenshots from my bank. I get the second image when I click on "See recommended browsers"

I get this same message from several other sites, and it is very annoying and frustrating.

I added the Default User Agent add-on and supposedly configure it to show websites I am visiting that I am using FF34, which is obviously not working.

So it is the Bank of America site that is trying to tell you to upgrade and not the Firefox browser.
