I've been searching for three days now for a solution that will work to restore my profile from a crashed windows-7 machine to my new windows-11. Nothing listed in any forum or help desk works as described. I used to be able to just rename the folder to the exact file name on the new PC, but windows 11 won't let me do anything. It always needs admin permissions and even after I activated the admin account and assigned a password, I still cannot copy to the folder or rename the folder. Every attempt to do this on W-11 fails. It shouldn't be that hard and I'm tired of wasting days playing with this. I have important bookmarks, passwords etc. I want restored, and I need help. Nobody wants to pick up a phone anymore to assist!

I have never used "sync" because I have multiple PCs and each used for different applications and yes some go back to W-7, the operating system that actually worked well. Each PC has Firefox and a distinct bookmark file.

I went to "about:profiles" and created a new profile thinking I could copy to the new folder, but when i switched profiles I couldn't get back to the original default! HELP!

normally i just click the forefox icon on my taskbar and type claude.ai in the address field but today i was messaged that the claude program needed a mozila account - so I had to set one up. why and still cannot get to Claude

Normally Firefox sponsor ads on home page occasionally inserts an new ad. I will support some occasional ads by clicking on the new ad to give Firefox 'click credit' then deleting new ad. Today when I delete the new ad another pops up 10-15 times an will not stop. That is too much. I do voluntarily support Firefox with monthly donation.

How do I stop the constantly returning ads?

I've tuned in to Firefox this morning to find that I'm kind of shut out, no access to my usual apps, and required to enact some difficult backing up etc. When I explore, it seems to relate to Windows 10 losing its backup from Microsoft. But I'm running Windows 11, not 10. What's going on? Is this legitimate? If so, why is it complicated and why wasn't it forewarned (by Firefox)?

The website commonly used by Arizonans to make filings for court, will not work properly with Firefox, even after turning off Enhanced Tracking Protection. I had to use Chrome instead.

I moved and my moving company had my computer soundly packed in a box. After 2 months I have hooked it up. Tried to open my Firefox and the message stated the file is corrupt. I've opened a new Firefox account. Can I get my old account back or can I get my old information into my new account?

I recently went to settings to make sure my default browser on my Windows 11 device was Foxfire. I think I also saw an option to move all tabs over from other browsers, but instead of adding these to my current ones on foxfire, I think it just replace all of the ones I had as they are not in my history any longer either. I went to the 3 lines, to settings, to general, made sure all was checked properly, but it did not help bring the others back!!! help

Environment - OS: Omarchy - File manager: Nautilus (running as --gapplication-service) - Desktop portals: xdg-desktop-portal + xdg-desktop-portal-hyprland (+ gtk fallback) Firefox: latest stable from Arch repositories

Observations Only one Firefox process is running (pgrep -a firefox). Only one Nautilus process is running, but it receives two open requests, resulting in two windows. The issue does not occur in Chromium/Chrome, which opens only one window. Running xdg-open <file> manually opens one Nautilus window.

Portal logs show GTK being chosen as last-resort fallback, but system-wide XDG configuration appears correct.

Question

Is this a known Wayland/portal bug in Firefox? Are there recommended debugging flags or patches to trace the duplicate launch request?

I’m experiencing ongoing problems with Firefox and hope to get some help or clarification here.

Main issue: I’m unable to sign in to my Outlook / Microsoft email account using Firefox. The login page does not load correctly, or the sign-in simply fails (Error 400). When I use another browser (for example Microsoft Edge), the login works without any issues.

System information:

Operating System: Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2021 (LTSC, supported until 2032)

Firefox version: 147.0.3 (64-Bit)

Additional problems: Besides the Outlook login issue, Firefox has recently become more problematic during normal daily use:

Text selection with the mouse often does not work correctly

Clicking and dragging to highlight text is unreliable or stops working

Pages sometimes feel unresponsive, (ChatGPT)

Overall, the browser feels less stable than older Versions on Windows 10 22H2

These issues seem to be getting more frequent over time and occur on multiple websites, not just Outlook.

I switched my system to Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2021 (LTSC, supported until 2032) in the hope of improved performance and stability.

What I have already tried:

Clearing cache and cookies

Disabling all add-ons/extensions

Testing in Private Browsing mode

Restarting Firefox

Unfortunately, none of these steps resolved the problems permanently.

My questions:

Is Firefox fully supported on Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2021 / LTSC for the long term (until 2032)?

Are there known issues with Microsoft / Outlook sign-in specifically in Firefox?

Are there known stability issues (text selection, mouse interaction, page responsiveness) in recent Firefox versions?

What settings or troubleshooting steps are recommended to improve stability?

Recent (Windows?) update signed me out of Firefox. Logged in again, but bookmarks aren't showing up. Bookmarks are marked for sync-ing, and I did try sync-ing twice. Maybe I have to sign back in on the original device?

I have downloaded this plugin, but I cannot find any advice on how to operate it. I have opened a page (which I have created) rendering part of a high res iiif image, whose whole iiif pyramid is available for viewing. But I cannot find any button that activates the plugin.

The plugin promises "With this addon installed, you will be able to download the highest available resolution for files available on digital libraries compatible with the IIIF protocol."

How can I download the whole high res image?
