When saving/opening file dialog is on screen the whole program freezes and take forever to unfreeze to the point I have to force quite the program. The problem seems to be only in Firefox.

Safe mode - same problem, Have done a complete refresh - same problem. Clean uninstall and reinstall - same problem.

Have moved to Chrome - similar problems.

My Thunderbird email on my PC will only open intermittently in the last few days. Re-starting my computer sometimes helps, but only temporarily. There are no error messages- just nothing happens. I am still able to access email on other devices - just not on PC - which I use a lot. I'd be grateful for ideas of how to fix this. Thank you, Pam Rycroft

I was looking for an item that would be a couple of years back in my history, only to discover that my history now only goes back a year and 3 months… Exactly, as of today, I don't know if that's meaningful. Does anyone have any idea what might've happened, and how I can restore the rest of my history? Thank you!

I'm on a Mac using Mojave, with Firefox version 115.8.

My Windows 10 PC stopped working a few days & is disconnected & partially disassembled. I’m temporarily using an old Windows 7 PC which I brought up from the basement the following day. They both have Firefox on them.

I saved one bookmark on the Win7 PC today. It was there when I looked earlier. Now I went to use it again & it’s not there. But my Win10 bookmarks are there!!

How could that be?

Had to replace FF with Chrome in order to play DRM content on my W11 laptop. I get message saying you are downloading remedy, but nothing ever changes. Would prefer to continue 15+ year relationship with FF, but seems like youre abandoning capabilities for DRM video content?

I keep trying, but to no avail. Gmail works with Chrome on my PC. How can I fix this?

I've just updated to Firefox 125 and now, when I start to type in the URL bar and get my suggestion dropdown of previously visited pages, I no longer can see the actual url for each entry. All I see is the top level name for each entry.

This is not helpful, as I may have perviously visited a number of pages on that site and the information shown does not give me a way to differentiate sufficiently between those pages.

How can I get the exact url displayed on the suggestions dropdown.

How can I get those top level descriptions NOT displayed, so that only the urls are shown?

When I open firefox in ubuntu linux. (WSLg) Fresh install. I can't go to settings in firefox. Steps: press the hamburger menu, press settings, nothing happens.

Recent issue, April 2024. Had version 124 Firefox on Win10 computer and went to Help - > About to have Firefox check for updates. This has worked just fine up until now. The message "Failed to check for updates." is shown in the About screen. I have uninstalled and re-installed Firefox with the same results. Have also un-installed Firefox, un-installed Mozilla Maintenance, then removed Firefox data from App Data folder in user directory, then re-installed with the same results. Also, now when I access a local media server, I keep getting the message "Firefox is installing components needed" and that never goes away. Any ideas?

I'm using Firefox with Google as my default search engine. When ever I try to type in the Google search box, what I am typing appears in the address bar. I want to search in the Google search box as it is at eye level for what I am doing. I have tried all sorts of ideas from the web to fix this but no joy. Does anyone know how I disable this? To upload/import bookmarks into Firefox, the file extension of JSON is required. However from old crashed computer, I exported bookmarks in Excel. Please help. Thanks

In firefox Ubuntu (WSLg) the dropdown menus don't work. I have already tried reinstalling both firefox, and the entire OS.

When I press Custom URLs... (see image) nothing happens. This issue is everywhere in the brouwser, on websites, even when I press help in the hamburger menu. (Or settings in that same hamburger menu.)

i am using firefox developer edition version 126.0b3 (64-bit) on linux mint with an x11 desktop and for some reason the drag and drop breaks frequently.

i think i have figured out how i can consistently recreate the bug as well as sort of fix it temporarily.

i start with a newly launched browser. everything works fine. but then if i attempt to drag and drop something shortly after i drag and dropped something else and it did the little animation where it returns to its original position, i find that i cant drag and drop anything FROM firefox to anywhere else. and i also cannot rearrage tabs.

it seems to fix itself whenever I drag something from another program TO firefox successfully such as text into a textbox, or a .html file into the window to view it.

I recently updated to 125.0.1 and now get 'failed to check for updates': - when I manually check (help > about Firefox) (see image) - in 'settings' it also shows 'failed to check for updates' (see image) I never had such a problem with previous versions; any suggestions?

I think with the update to 125, I no longer see the typical Windows window controls in the upper right - minimize, maximize, close - so I don't know how to do those things.

THe top right looks like this Mac-based image (where those buttons are on the upper left) but I'm running on Windows so I don't have the dot buttons on top left nor the Windows style min/max/close at top right.

What do I need to do to get them back?
