My current version of Firefox is 149.0 (64 bit) Mozilla Firefox for Arch Linux Arch Linux - 1.0 I am running this on two computers, a laptop and a desktop, both running Arch Linux, currently at 6.19.10. I use the laptop much more, and recently noticed that I cannot upload or download files with Firefox. No file selection window opens and the request is simply ignored. Nothing appears in my Downloads folder. Meanwhile, I also noticed that this function works just fine on the desktop computer. I don't remember making any settings changes. I do have popups generally disabled but can enable them for certain sites. In any case, I have tried enabling popups and redirects completely with no change. I figure there must be something different about the settings on these two Firefox installations, but what? What can you tell me? Or ask me? Thanks.

I am having a problem with Firefox. Some websites do not load correctly and certain extensions do not work as expected.

I have already tried restarting Firefox and checking my internet connection, but the issue still happens.

Please advise how to fix this problem. Thank you.

I'm now switching to chrome as I don't want things just showing up in my browser. You must be stupid to think dropping things nobody wants into your product will make people want to use your -->

I have several machines, and a few of them will open firefox just fine, the browser starts and displays the new tab home page. But others will open to a null tab, nothing is there.

What's broken with the blank tab machines?

I've looked over all the possible settings for the home screen and they're the same on all the platforms.

My System Administrator upgraded my Macbook Pro laptop after upgrading from Sequoia to to Tahoe version 26.4. This was a JAMF migration. The reinstalled Firefox does not show my bookmarks, after logging in to Firefox with my username and password. I tried to restore bookmarks but it loaded only a few, from more than a decade ago.

I'm using an out of date Windows 10 laptop. I am aware of the Windows 10/11 thing. I know. I've got my own reasons for not updating this one, it's not my only device. I get it. I understand. I know. My settings are how they are on purpose. I do not need to be nagged in this fashion.

How do I turn this off? I can't find it in settings. It's not appearing on any of my other browsers. It's just Firefox. Please help, it's driving me crazy.

you have highjacked my computer and I am tired of the BS. I had favorites set for years how I wanted them and a few months ago and now they change everyday to some BS I do not want listed as a favorite I do not know how to stop it, Will you help me???

Hello. I'm using vertical tabs in Firefox, but the previews are displayed and are getting in the way. I've checked the settings, and there are options for "Show preview image when hovering over tab" and "Show tab previews in taskbar," but... Is there no way to hide them in vertical tabs? Firefox 149.0 64-bit

I suspect what I'm about to describe is intended behavior and I'm just doing things Wrong.

Sometimes I want to specify a search engine; sometimes I don't. This is awkward when my search terms include the shortcut for an engine for some reason (it happens to me more often than you'd think). To date, I've handled that case by using the address bar (ctrl-l by default) when I want to do an engine-specific search, and the search bar (ctrl-k by default) when I want to explicitly prevent that, because the search bar doesn't support search shortcuts.

Search shortcut support appears to have been added to the most recent update I received (149.0), breaking this flow (and incidentally breaking muscle memory for tabbing from one bar to the other, but that's less annoying). I could add a common prefix (presumably a symbol key) to all my search shortcuts to get similar behavior, but I'm fairly attached to the home row; every bucky bit is a small but noticeable pain on my wrists.

I'd like to know how to disable search shortcuts only in one bar or the other (I don't care which); or, alternately, a better way to achieve the same goal. At present my next-best-alternative is to train myself to *always* use an explicit search shortcut...which I can live with if necessary, but it's not ideal.

I recently (within the last month) gotten an update in windows 11 and all of a sudden firefox slows way down and eventually stops doing anything...Any ideas what I can do to get firefox to actually work all the time??? I am using firefox 149.0 and it says it is up to date...

I have been using Firefox for years and had no problems. I have it setup for custom URL home page to yahoo. When I go in and try to search anything, it shows about:blank. If i try several times it will work. For testing, I tried google chrome and do not have this problem.

Any thoughts?

Guten Tag, Ich habe den Button für VPN oben in der Toolbar von Firefox. Da habe ich drauf geklickt und mich dann mit meinem Konto "Email Adresse von Benutzerkonto"angemeldet. Nur leider kann ich wenn ich auf den Button zum VPN aktivieren klicke den VPN nicht aktivieren . Er bleibt die ganze zeit deaktivert. Warum ?

 I watched EVERY episode of THE CHOSEN Series from Season 1 thru 5  three times over the past year or so.  After accessing each episode, I copied the link, then e-mailed it to myself (in THUNDERBIRD), and when it came back, I saved it in a folder in T-BIRD.  I saved them in order of sequence, and also saved the discussion video links that followed each episode.  Over the course of time,

I HAD been able to click on the links to watch each episode again, each time absorbing more of the content. The creator of THE CHOSEN series sent out a message at the beginning of Lent, suggesting that it would be a great way to prepare for the EASTER celebration to watch one episode per day, starting with Season 1 / Episode 1. I tried to do this. When I clicked on the link, the screen refreshed; I got the background screen in a grayed-out mode with 3 white dots, showing that the content was loading. However, after waiting several minutes, the episode never loaded, nor did the video begin. I tried different episodes, not only from the same season, but randomly from other seasons. Still the same results. The video would not properly load. At first, I thought it may be with THE CHOSEN files, so I contacted their Technical Help personnel. They replied with some requests for add'l input, offered some suggestions - nothing worked. I was still essentially locked out. The agent eventually informed me that she had escalated this request to a deeper investigation unit. Their final recommendation was to clear the Cookies & memory cache.

 I am not technically proficient in WINDOWS - I find it very intimidating & very hard to understand all the technical jargon that is associated with the operating system.  Because their suggestion was not 'step-by-step' instruction, I was unsure IF this memory cache clearing process was something to be done through a Windows utility or somewhere else.  I have no one to ask

for assistance. I could not find any such operation. Then, I turned to FIREFOX, and I found in the 'Settings' section, there was some mention of clearing the memory cache, etc., so I tried them, not really sure of what I was doing. After doing this, I re-started the PC, hoping that the video(s) would run, but none of the links that I tried reacted any different from what I described above. And, so I'm still locked out, not only of these past episodes of THE CHOSEN series, but also of several independent links that THE CHOSEN group has sent out in the most recent several months.

 The irony of it all is that this problem seems to be isolated to THE CHOSEN sites because I've had NO problem opening any other links, whether news organizations or any other content, including YouTube, or personal videos sent from family members and/or friends.
 For completeness sake - H-P Tower style PC, running WINDOWS 10 HOME on a 1TB solid state C: drive.  Malware programs include MALAWAREBYTES (subscribed version), CCLEANER (modern release, but freeware) & SPYBOT (also modern release, but freeware).  In both cases, I originally had paid subscriptions to both CCLEANER & SPYBOT, but when the effective periods ended, I did not renew either one.

Lastpass does not log out when I close Firefox. I have no other browsers open, and have checked the box in Extension Settings, Security to Log Out when all browsers are closed. Every time I close Firefox, and relaunch it, I am already signed in to LastPass through the Firefox browser extension.

This does not happen with the Edge browser, just with Firefox. And it does not happen on my wife's laptop. We both are running Windows 11, and Windows & Firefox are both up to date.

HELP, please! This is a serious security problem, and if there is not a fix I will have to remove Firefox and use Edge.

I use an online weaving software (https://twistedthreads.org) and when deleting a row there's a popup that asks "do you want to delete?". I accideantally hit the checkbox that was along the lines of don't ask again and now even when clicking the button that would launch this pop up it won't come up (effectively meaning I can't use the delete button!) I've tried resetting cookies, and allowing the site to send me pop ups and it seems to have made no difference.

I set up Claude to use as my AI assistant in the Firefox sidebar. But, I made a mistake and signed in with my personal email and not my work email (which is attached to a paid Claude account). I cannot find an option to sign out of Claude and then sign back in with a different account. How is this to be done?
