For some reason every time I open Firefox the window closes. I can see it's open on my dock, but if I click on it, the window opens and closes again. It's so fast I can't even go to the setting for Firefox. Anyone knows what's going on?

My Firefox is fine, it works normally (except for Youtube pages which take over a minute to start playing).

Today, while FF was open and working fine, I clicked on an url shortcut on my desktop and got the "firefox is already running but is not responding" error - this came after I disabled Microsoft automatic sign-in to apps and services (I run a local account). So I think that's what has screwed things up.

So now FF will only open a shortcut if it's already closed, but not if it's already open like normal. If I drag and drop the same short cut onto FF it opens no problem, so I think it's a windows screw up,..

But how to fix it ?

Lately I’ve noticed that Firefox sometimes delays or fails to load certain academic or book resource sites. One particular example is libgen.is — I occasionally use it for accessing research materials, but Firefox either shows a security warning or takes too long to load the page.

I tested the same link on Chrome and Edge, and it loads without any issue. My Firefox is up to date, and I’ve already tried clearing the cache and disabling add-ons, but the problem persists.

Could this be due to DNS settings or enhanced tracking protection? Is there a workaround or exception I can set safely?

I'm experiencing an issue when copying PNG images only in the Firefox browser. Here's the problem: When I copy a PNG image and paste it into Photoshop or any other program, I get an image with a black background.

This didn’t happen before, but it started occurring after a few recent updates.

In other browsers, I get a “normal” PNG image with a transparent background.

NOTHING HAPPENS.

Yes, I'm a bit peeved at this because whenever I am stupid enough to close Firefox, I lose all my tabs. And it ain't just a couple tabs.

Sorry, I will firefox browser delete from Windows-11, there is an internal error, that's why the browser can not update ( said the error). please talk to me in Dutch, that's my language. My age is 71, so Nederlands/Dutch is much easier. Please help me, to install a clean firefox-browser after all old is deleted. My standard browser is opera, because of the problems.

I can not delete the browser in Windows-apps (in my laptop) there are two firefox programs

I just moved to a new desktop. I did a backup of my bookmarks on my old PC and a restore of bookmarks on my new PC. My bookmarks have been imported. They’re in the bookmarks drop-down menu. In the bookmarks Library window, the “Manage bookmarks” window, they’re in a folder called Other Bookmarks. But you can’t open that folder. You can’t manage the bookmarks.

Is there a way to import the bookmarks so they can be managed?

I have no idea what that means - Do I click the wee cross top right to close it and then click the Firefox wee sign to open it again. I tried that but get the message.

How can I turn this message off?

We are running Firefox in kiosk mode in the browser (on a Windows 11 PC), and they are logging into an HTTP site using a touch screen, but when they click into the username box, they sometimes miss touch where to enter this username and instead touch the link mentioned in the message. This then takes them to the Mozilla homepage, but because it is running in kiosk mode, they are unable to navigate back, and they are prevented from closing and restarting Firefox. This is why we need to turn the message off.

Many sites I go to wish me to temporarily turn off Ad Block Plus. I look everywhere in firefox extensions, plug ins, etc etc., and I do not see Ad Block Plus anywhere, so where can it be hiding, or if i removed it in the past, are there still remnants of the extension that could be causing issues? If I select "Privacy & Security > History > Clear history when Firefox closes > Settings > Data > Site settings" what SQLite files affected when Firefox closes?

I suspect in the profile folder directly, there's a file called "storage.sqlite", but there seems to be more things affected because the whitelist for my cookies is also wiped-out.

In my experience (115.23.0.esr), when I request to remove site data when Firefox closes, it wipes out my cookie white list, so I want to manage that myself.

When I came back after 10 days, my historic was cancelled. So, I cannot saw the previous pages or windows. What can I do to have again my previous windows ? Have a nice day
