When I start up Firefox every morning the pages I had open yesterday automatically load. How do I regain control of my browser without deleting my history?
In the last couple of days I noticed a change to the way my browser behaves. I don't mind that it remembers where I have been since the History function is helpful when looking for past articles. However, what is happening now is that when I start up Firefox after closing it, it automatically loads all the tabs that I had open previously (the night before). This is really annoying.

It is an option you my turn on and off. Set it instead to open with your choice of one or more tabs as home pages.

Other users have had this problem. The issue was solved by;
Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.
Under the page logo on the left side you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To it’s right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.
Find the User JS file, then rename or delete it.
Good call Fred, I missed that this poster does have a user.js file.

I would suggest renaming the user.js file if you did not create it personally, or know what software created it.

It may also help to post the contents of the file by pasting its content into your reply. The file is a short text file. If necessary renaming it as user.js.txt will both disable the file, and ensue it is readable by most word processors or notepad.
