Just deleted all the files in my archive folder which also deleted all my inbox files, why has this happened ? I don't want an Archive Folder. Have tried to remove it by unchecking box in Account Settings, Copies and Folders, this does not work . I have lost everything in Inbox, and Sent. Brilliant Result from something I do not need and did not set up.

I must have hit the wrong key using a message and all of a sudden Thunderbird has renamed my All Mail folder to Archives. I have spent a large number of hours trying to self-help, but alas, I am at my wits end. At this point in time I have two folders named Archives, one with all my messages and one that is empty. I even uninstalled and downloaded Thunderbird onto my Windows 11 desktop PC. Anyone care to help an old IT software developer? My objective it to somehow get back to having only one All Mail folder

I believe that version 145.0, newly installed on the 9th December, 2025 was showing server folders correctly; the server folder name matched the client folder name.

After upgrading to 146.0 on the 10th December, the server folder names for some folders are displaying with different client folder names.

The IMAP account has both "spam" and "junk" folders, Thunderbird is now displaying both as "Spam", you can only determine which folder is which by showing folder properties. It appears to users that there are two "Spam" folders now and not the two distinct folders with their own names.

Similar behaviour is happening for "Sent" and "Sent Messages" folders, both now display as "Sent".

These changes are confusing, the client sees two "Spam" folders and two "Sent" folders instead of the original proper server folder names.

Why has the display name for these folders changed?

How can I get TB to display the real underlying folder names?

Today I agreed to the update of Thunderbird. After the update all my data have been distroyed - no calender data have been shown nor my previouse emails nor my structure of emails worked as ususal. I safed a backup file (zif) from another PC to an external drive. Now it is not possible to import this file because the zip is to big and I get the order to unzip first. If I do this I get a long list of errors and nothing works. Please tell me how to solve the problem! Ralf

Hi guys I do have various email address from hotmail and Gmail. After outlook did not synchronize all of my Hotmail mail accounts I wanted to switch to thunderbird.

Now I do have the following issue. I want to add a Gmail account into my thunderbird. After typing in email address and password I am being redirected to Google.. I click on further and then I see a white page and the website is not loading at all. Once i go back to thunderbird it says login not possible with OAuth. Whatever this means. How can I solve this?

I can't seem to get Thunderbird configured correctly to get the "send to" function to work. As in sending a file from the desktop. I checked the default file association, and it looks to be set correctly. Help! And thanks.

I have a comcast.net account but I use the Thunderbird app. How much trouble am I going to have moving to the Yahoo.mail for COMCAST? Will I have any extra steps that I will have to do. I am very apprehensive about this move.

since last update my *All Mail* folder is empty but at the top it says there are 138,944 messages. I can use some filters and SOME messages appear but by far not all that should match that filter. any clues? thanks,

All of my previously read emails are still highlighted. The number of "new" emails in the count continues to rise, when I have seen them all. How can I shut that off so I don't think everything is a new unread email?

I have a Signature setup and it works great on NEW Emails, however, if I click on reply to an email the signature is not there. I have the checkbox checked for "Include signature for replies" but it doesn't seem to work. I've tried unchecking it, restarting the app, re-checking it and restarting again, still doesn't work.

Recently my Thunderbird mail has been 'glitchy'.

Sometimes I receive audible alerts for emails, other times I don't.

Sometimes the number of new emails received is correct, other times it shows 4 new emails when, across all my accounts, the number is 2 (for example).

Are either or both of these known issues?

I also noticed when I was watching a live music stream on TikTok last week, I 'had' no emails for almost 2 hours. As soon as I left TikTok and closed my browser window emails 'arrived', one timestamped 45 minutes earlier. The settings for that account are set to check for emails every 5 minutes.

Could the Chinese be 'watching me' 😁 or is there another more innocent explanation?

I have created a series of named folders on my thunderbird home screen and I move incoming messages into each folder according to subject matter. I set up a folder named it BUPA some months ago and moved all incoming emails relevant into this folder. Now I have discovered that this folder does not appear under my list of folders on my home page and it has dissappeared. I do not know how this took place but I assume that this collection must still be on yourserver and if so can be restored to me. I would be most grateful if you could assist me with this problem.
