'Well, i updated to Firefox 9 and the edit of the rdf file didn`t work, therefore i didn`t have google toolbar with firefox 9. So, i founda version of Firefox 4 installed it and Google toolbar came with it. Amazing. Version 4 of Firefox 4 doesn`t look or operate any different to all of the numbers up to 9. I really don`t know what the "hullabaloo" is all about.'

Mozilla never offered the Google Toolbar with any version of Firefox, you must have found an unofficial, 3rd party build of Firefox.

Visually there aren't many differences between Firefox 4.0 and Firefox 9.0, but inside there are like a few thousand bug fixes that were made in 5.0, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, and 9.0. Most of those bug fixes added new features to Firefox.

Firefox comes with 7 search engines in the Search Bar, one of which is Google, so you don't need an add-on like the Google Toolbar merely for search engines.

There are many hundreds of search engines available from the add-ons website - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search-tools/ and from MozDev - http://mycroft.mozdev.org/ Both websites even have a feature where you can create your own search engines.

Yes, but there`s a lot of features on Google Toolbar. What`s the real reason Firefox stopped Google Toolbar. Self interest and not in the interest of many.

Well noo, I`m pleased to report that after all the googling i found "Addon Compatibility Reporter" and put it on my computer, restarted and there we are is Google Toolbar in all it`s glory joining Firefox 9. Now why doesn`t Firefox tell us about "Addon Compatibility Reporter", it wouldn`t hurt them at all. And for yourself, you probably didn`t think to mention it. Wow!!

Sorry, but the ACR isn't a complete solution for the Google Toolbar.

The domain name change for signing in to two or three different Google services late last summer broke that part of that add-on (like Gmail and Google Bookmarks), and there are some other features that just don't work at all any longer.

OH Dear, what features don`t work? I don`t use Gmail and Google Bookmarks.

IIRC from what I have seen posted in this forum over the last 8 months, Google Translate and Page Rank don't work, and they may not have even worked in the last supposedly compatible version of Firefox - 4.0.

Exactly which features of the Google Toolbar do you use?
Have you looked for alternative add-ons for those features?
