Just recently(the new firefox), I am experiencing problems with delays and stalls on Firefox, especially on yahoo. I had to switch over to Chrome.

Slow in opening webpages, especially yahoo. Takes 17 seconds or longer to open a page completely. I have 24 download/2.5 upload internet speed and when I'm in Chrome browser, I have no issues.

Try running Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.

If that doesn't make any difference, go through the Troubleshoot and diagnose Firefox problems steps to try and isolate the problem.
