In order to enable cookies to remember passwords, you must go to the menu button (top-right) and select Privacy & Security from the left panel.

Under Enhanced Tracking Protection, make sure the Standard option is selected, and scroll down to Cookies and Site data to uncheck "Delete cookies and site data...is closed."
