This add on is not available in your country
I have a new laptop so needed to install an adblock. The search results page gave many choices. However, no matter which one I clicked on it said this page is not available in your region. Now how is that possible seeing as on my previous laptop and in the same region I could install the add on? I have had to use a VPN to install the adblocker. Please explain how regions prevent the installation and why it happens. Firefox is universal or so I thought.

Hi
There are some locales, China being an example, where content blockers are not allowed due to legislation in that country.
It may have been the case that your previous laptop had been set up in one locale and this new laptop has been set up in another.
The locale has always been the same, since 2004, and was a Chinese made laptop. This one is a H.P laptop. Legislation has got nothing to do with it. Stop making excuses. Anyway I used a VPN to install it
What country were you connecting from?
China is where I am at and have been here working since 2004. I have never had any problems with installing any add on until the recent one.

China is not blocking addons.mozilla.org however they could if the ad blocking related extensions was not geo-restricted for users in China.
There can be work around like if the extension author has a github section for it then you may be able to download the extension .xpi and then install it into Firefox.

Maybe China is not blocking but the addon providers are refusing access from China. Anyway, I already got the addon by using a VPN.
