I have bookmarks with sub folders imported from Internet Explorer but want to update more from MS Edge

I am Windows 10 (64bit) Version 1909 and have Firefox (64) 76.0. Years ago I did an initial import bookmarks from MS Internet Explorer. These are split into sub folders such as Family ,Computing etc. Since that original Import my browser MS Edge has many new book marks (Favourites) I want to update my Firefox book marks with those MS Edge additions and have them (hopefully) slot into the same existing subfolders. FAQ articles all seem to relate to Importing from Scratch rather than adding extra ones within sub folders.

OR Do I have to totally remove all existing bookmarks from Firefox and then import MS Edge as if for the first ime. If so please advise me how to tally delete existing Firefox bookmarks so I can do that

No, you should be able to import bookmarks from other browsers, even if you already have bookmarks in Firefox. Typically, they get placed in their own bookmark folder (like "Imported from Chrome", for example) and then can be moved into the appropriate Firefox bookmark folders.

As a precaution, I would probably recommend backing up your bookmarks to an HTML file BEFORE trying to import bookmarks from another browser. That way, in the event that something goes terribly wrong, you will have that information saved and you can recover that information.
