Suddenly nothing is coming through to Thunderbird - I can see emails in gmail if I contact it thro' Google start page, but since 2 Oct nothing has come to Thund

Emails used to come through OK, but recently rather slow. For example, I could go to my gmail account via the Google Start Page and get them hours before they came through to Thunderbird. But suddenly, they are not coming through at all - I have not got any through to Thunderbird since the 2nd October, although they are there in the gmail account on Google. I really like Thunderbird, but this is not good. Can anybody help me? Please?

Does reinstall from http://getthunderbird.com/ help?
