My length of my navigation bar used to allow enough space for me to 'drag' 3 or 4 Firefox extension icons. Now for some reason it has lengthened and there is only enough space for the 'home' icon. How can I get back the original length, or how can I just adjust it when I want to? I have tried clicking on the cery end of the navigation bar and dragging it. The 2 arrows appear, but it won't allow me to drag it and change.

The Location Bar and the Search Bar expand to fill up unused space. Simply drag the icons you want from customize to the position wanted.

You can make Firefox 7.0.1 look like Firefox 3.6.*, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 thru 8.0, look like 3.6). Whether or not you make changes, you should be aware of what has changed and what you have to do to use changed or missing features.

There is a lot more beyond those first 10 steps listed, if you want to make Firefox more functional. In addition to those ten items ...

Make additional styling changes the way they could have been done. (#fx4styles)

Thank you for your help dmcritchie. I didn't realize you could drag icons and shrink the size of the navigation bar in the process.

You can place the mouse pointer between the location bar and the search bar and it will become a resize icon that you can drag right or left with the left mouse button pressed to change the relative width of the two bars.
