I would like to find a way to save my bookmarks unsorted but with the newest saves at the top of the list. I don't want alphabetical order. 3.6.13

I only see three options for bookmarks: alphabetical, reversed alphabetical or unsorted. On this shared computer marking subfolders is not an option. We would like to have the unsorted list reversed.

Chosen solution

It appears you can do that with the SortPlaces extension:

In the Options for the extension (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions, click SortPlaces, click Options), on any of the tabs, for "Sort Items By" choose "Date Added" (or "Last Modified"), then check "Reverse Order".

That 'feature' may have been added by an extension.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

See:

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
  • Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
