Hi

I am using Firefox 81.0.1 (64-bit) on my Windows 10 PC. I would like firefox to forget the primary password after sometime. I sometimes leave a firefox session open through out the day at work and do not want firefox to give to access my sensitive accounts without authentication. This way it doesn't give access to my accounts in case someone else gets access to my session. Is that possible?

There are a few methods to make Firefox forget the Primary/Master Password.

You can log out of the Software Security Device by clicking Cancel in a primary password dialog to protect the passwords against viewing and force having to re-enter the MP again.

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Logins and Passwords: Saved Logins

You can also manually log out in the Security Device manager.

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Certificates -> Security Devices: Software Security Device: Log Out button in the right sidebar
